Please help - my goal is $3000 for this year's AIDS WALK

Hello.

Once again I am walking with the Viacom / MTVN team in this year's AIDS WALK on May 18.
Last year because of your generosity I was able to raise almost $2400 for our team who in turn donated a total of $37,000.

So, let's keep this going. This year my personal goal is $3000. Yeah, I know - sort of crazy, but I think we can do this.

You can sponsor my walk either online or in person - just let me know and I'll come to you.

Online you can sponsor my walk two ways - either by Sponsoring A Walker (follow instructions below):
1. Go to
www.aidswalk.net
2. Click on New York
3. Sponsor A Walker
4. Type Caroline O'Hare
Or you can go directly to my homepage:
http://aidswalknewyork2008.kintera.org/carolinenyc

If you can, please join us on May 18 in Central Park.
Thank you for helping support the GMHC.

Hope to see you there.

Tickets are $9 and will be sold at the door on a first come, first serve basis.

New Justice Video [HIGHLY RECCD]

In case anyone hasn't seen the new Justice video for 'DVNO', by So Me, the dude who also dir. their video for 'D.A.N.C.E.' and that Kanye video that rips it off, (self plagiarism is not a crime), do yourself a favor and watch:

speaking of swearing...

this has been one of my favorite spots for a while now -- Channel 4 in the UK produced this promo in 2004. It's simply celebs giving an example of their favorite swear words.

ahhh MTV Netherlands

If you don't like swearing then don't watch this clip. And if you don't like MTV ...

Clinton, Obama to Discuss War on MTV Tonight

Marking the fifth year of the war in Iraq, “experts” are now saying the war is probably not even at the halfway mark.
Clinton and Obama will appear on
MTV tonight at 6 p.m. (EST) to answer questions from young war veterans. Both spoke about the war today: Obama in North Carolina and Clinton in Washington, D.C.

I Survived Power Hour

Tim's launch party for the Greatest DVD Ever was packed last night at M1-5 and Promos represented strong. I however, must concede defeat. At 50, while still standing - came to the realization that my body physically could not hold another thimble full of drink. Yes, I did feel shame. Deep, deep shame : ) Hope everyone had as much fun as I did though and please get your copy of the game from Tim before he goes to jail.

Anyone have photos from last night?

Our SXSW Experience

Jeff, Sophia, Dax, Barry, Joe A and I recently saw some amazing bands and ate a whole lot of BBQ during the debauchery at SXSW. I really don't think one band was disappointing. Barry & Dax are currently editing the promo spots we worked on, in the coolest looking warehouse location. I'll be sure to post those as soon as they are done. Below are the bands we shot & the shows we went to at night. I would have included their myspace pages but it was just too many bands:) Let me know if you want anymore information on the bands!

The highlights for me were Santogold, My Morning Jacket, MGMT, The Black Keys, Sia, N.E.R.D. and a band Jeff & I discovered, Delta Spirit.

The Merchants of Cool

Check out this documentary, The Merchants of Cool, online.

Chapter 3 is called The MTV Machine. It goes into how we market to and research our viewers - well, how we did it in 2001. It's like some crazy science doc - especially when MTV goes to some kid's house and starts looking through his closet. It also tries to explain Tom Green's existence (ha).

As if you forgot

Please Enjoy

NYC Film Race

Is anyone doing the NYC Fim Race this year? Registration is from March 26 - 28. Filmmakers are challenged to write, shoot, edit, and score an original short film (8 minutes max.) in just 24 hours, from midnight to midnight. The films must be based on a theme assignment (ex. revenge). All of the films are screened at a local theater for public viewing.

We have the tools. You know we have the talent. So, why not have the prize money too.

I would love to help out as a PA, paper-pusher, or talent. (caroline o'hare)
